This year we are very excited to be growing a quarter-acre mixed vegetable garden at Asgaard. We will be cultivating over 40 different vegetables and herbs in our garden plot, as well as 8 different tomato varieties in a new high tunnel! We grow according to the National Organic Standards, although we are not certified organic. We eat what we grow as well, so our growing practices adhere to our highest personal standards. Come by the farm to see how your produce is grown, and feel free to get your hands dirty!
Also being planted this year are some young apple trees, blueberry bushes, and a raspberry patch! These new additions will take a few years to become established, but soon we will be able to offer delicious blueberries, raspberries, and apples throughout the summer and fall.
In the coming months, we will be diligently tending to our young plants. We can’t wait for the harvest season to begin so we can share our delicious, wholesome vegetables with the community. Pick up some of our produce throughout the growing season at the Farm Store, 3 local Farmers Markets, or as a member of our vegetable CSA.
